Cold Mornings
Starting a motor on a cold winter morning is probably one of the worst
punishments you can inflict on an engine. The moving parts are devoid of oil
and the oil may be very thick due to the cold. It may take a few seconds AFTER
the motor is started to have any oil pressure.
The best thing to do is start your car, let it idle for 30 seconds and go.
Drive slowly until the engine is up to temperature. This is the best way to make your car last.
The key is not to shut your engine off until it reaches its normal operating temperature.
