I had a polarizing experience between two shops. The customer service representative provided a friendly initial consultation but quoted $11.5k for a reman transmission replacement, 7k for a used one. But, I denied and decided to take it somewhere else. At the time of invoicing for the diagnosis they performed, I also noticed an unauthorized and seemingly unperformed oil top-up on my final invoice. Upon checking my oil life monitor and manual dipstick later, the level remained at 31%, suggesting the oil top up service wasn't effectively performed. As I was completely into getting my truck fixed, did some google researches and calls. Finally, I decided to move my truck to Mr. Transmission, where they completed the entire job (plus entire drivetrain service, MAF sensor replacement) for $5.6k with a warranty. The turnaround was less than 48 hours and the vehicle drive way better than before. If you are looking for competitive market rates and specialized transmission expertise, I strongly suggest looking beyond Glenwood. Their labor charge for a diagnosis did end up in 292.27 CAD for nothing.

Technical side, pretty good. Service-wise, not ideal. They left my car in a mess, took everything from the center console and scattered all over the passenger side. They were replacing a cv axle, I see absolutely zero need to go through my things inside the car. Also my charger was missing. It would’ve been a good experience. Also the hydraulic hood lifts lost pressure after the first service for an oil leak, which cost $4000 for a rear main seal replacement, 4 months later it leaked again, apparently it was the cv axel this time. Glad they warranted the labour part of the cost, although they told me something different (an oil pump I needed to pay for $350, but later turned into the cv axle) from the phone than what they actually did. I find it deceiving and a bit disrespectful for the mess, thus 3 stars. But all in all they did their part, and I would still recommend it for they kept their words and took responsibilities.

I have always had great experiences working with Rob and Glenwood auto. I have had a few recent visits with my 2006 Honda Odyssey. From my experiences the team has been professional, responsive, fair and trustworthy. Rob and his team take the time to explain and provide good education around repairs required and their importance. When you’re getting work done on a vehicle it’s easy to be frustrated, but I have always left feeling understood and well taken care of. Highly recommend Rob and his team at Glenwood!
